How to boot windows 7 Operating system from USB Drive

Need to install windows 7 on computer with no Optical drive ? Do you want to create a backup installer in case your installer disc became damaged?

"Note This tutorial works for whatever edition of windows 7: Windows 7 ultimate, Professional & Home Premium".

There are many chances in which you would like to boot windows 7 from USB drive like there are many touch devices which don't have optical Drive in it or optical drive in Desktop or Laptop is not working. I also usually prefer to boot windows 7 from USB rather then optical drive.

Requirement for installing Windows 7
  • USB Flash drive (4 GB at least).
  • Windows 7 ISO image file.
  • PowerISO

Steps for installing windows 7 from USB  drive are as follow :

Step 1.  Firstly Download ISO file of windows 7. you can download any of the version you would like to install.

windows 7 Service Pack 1:  Click here to Download.
windows 7 Ultimate:  Click here to Download.

Step 2. Also download PowerISO from here.This allows you to download trial version but trial version of PowerISO also provide the feature of booting windows 7 from USB Drives.



Step 3. Now insert USB drive in device you like to install windows 7 and run PowerISO.



Step 4. Wait for 5 second and then click continue unregistered. Now Click on Tools ans select Create Bootable USB Drive.



Step 5. It may ask you for Administrator permission , click OK to continue.



Step 5. Again wait for 5 second and click unregistered and a new window open.



Step 6. Select Source Image file, destination USB Drives and Click Start. It will start booting on the USB drive, it'll take sometime and then it say Process Complete.


Now you are ready to install Windows 7 on your system.
