How to set video as desktop background/Wallpaper

Have you ever wanted your favorite video as your windows Wallpaper/background? Are you getting bored of using those static wallpaper on your windows desktop? If you like to have then you are at right place, after reading this post you are able to apply any video you like as your windows wallpaper.This trick work for Windows XP, vista and windows 7.

For this trick to work we will use VLC player that is already installed on every computer. VLC is free and open source cross platform multimedia player. VLC player is simple, fast and powerful player.plays most codec with no codec pack needed. It run on all the platform like Linux, Mac OS X and Windows.

Steps to set Video as your background wallpaper are as follow:

Step 1. First aof all install VLC player by clicking here., if you don’t already have.

Step 2 : After you have install VlC player, Go to Tools and then click on Preferences.

Step 3. Now choose Video option from left section and then select output as Direct X video output.

Step 4  In order to play Video as desktop background, save the changes and restart the VLC Player.

Step 5. Now play any video you like to play as wallpaper/ background. Now select on Video tab and select Set as Wallpaper/Direct X wallpaper from drop-down list as shown in the picture.

Step 6. Minimize the video and you can see video set as your Background wallpaper.

Step 7. If you like to have default wallpaper back then just unchecked the Set as Wallpaper/Direct X wallpaper from Drop-Down menu.
